Happy Holidays

Twas Christmas Day and all through the house,
Not a single cabinet maker was lazing about,
The vanity was all finished and the bathrooms all neat!
Now it’s on to the walls, floors, shutters and doors
And then, praise the Supreme Being above,
We’re complete!

Merry Christmas to all those who celebrate this holiday. If you’re like my family and it’s more or less an extra day off-celebrate the fact that you have most of your health and loved ones to be appreciated.

I doubt too many will actually make it here on the day I post this (Friday)-so I hope the day and the expectations went well for you and yours.

It’s very hard to believe that we are a week away from saying hello to 2010! Wasn’t it just last year that we were all fearing the results of Y2K? So much has happened in the last decade. Good, bad and everything in-between for our household.

I was diagnosed with RA. Our daughter and son graduated high school. Our daughter got married and had two kids. Our son graduated college and became engaged. We adopted a tabby. We remodeled our kitchen. We remodeled 2 bathrooms (even though we love the look, this is still a really big thorn we have yet to thoroughly remove). My husband and I closed our pre-school and day care business. My husband went back into sales and is now a corporate trainer. I sold designer plumbing for 6 years and revived my writing career. We’ve reconnected with friends from various stages of our lives thanks to the internet.

I broke my foot. My son had his tonsils out. Our grandkids lived with us for 6 weeks. I bought a car with only my taste in mind (not ages of kids and what was best for them and their activities). My husband bought a sports car. Our wonderful Sunshine somehow got old (but still does pretty darn well for a girl her age).

The more I write this, the more it sounds like it should be posted on New Year’s Eve-but if we look at our calendar it tells us that the next post falls out on New Year’s Day-so this is my Happy Holiday’s to All and a very Happy, Healthy and Prosperous 2010. May we all find we truly have something to be thankful for the entire coming year.
