Rain!

Yep, we have had rain! In fact, we had rain all day yesterday! This was the first time we actually had any kind of wet that not only hit the ground but stayed there until this morning for probably 9 months.

Of course, that meant that are ever scared little Sunshine refused until her bladder could not hold it anymore to go out.  And even though she really had to go after eight and a half hours, she still wouldn't go until her older and tinier sister did it first. Neither one went to the rocks in the yard both of them went to the other side of the covered patio and decided to use the doormat!

Nothing new I assure you. We actually have to replace our doormats about twice a year due to this usage.

This morning, as I already have mentioned, while it is not raining it has been so cold that all of the pavers and rocks are still wet. Neither girl wishes to venture out to their bathroom area and again use the doormat.

Honestly, I don't mind as long as what they do is outdoors!

Immediately upon coming back in the house Sunshine ran for her bed and covered herself over with the second blanket and Lucky again hit my sore knees until I put her on my lap.

Those of you who find this page from the Midwest and East really have not a clue as to what we complain about as far as winter weather goes! Which I totally get! For us, besides an occasional rain and the obvious freezing mornings until it warms up in the afternoon, we pretty much have it picture perfect in the weather department.

Last night was the first night of Hanukkah and we went over to Adam and Sam's to enjoy the evening with them and our two younger grands. It was totally unexpected and much appreciated! The kids went all out and bought me a lightweight downfilled jacket that will make me not look as if I am a rose colored snow person! it has zippered pockets for my phone and my ever present Kleenex!

They already knew this-but they still got Steve an air fryer. I have very little counter space in this kitchen. moving here I must have lost half of my valuable workspace that we had in the other house. And with our ever present three coffee pots and the KitchenAid mixer I am none too thrilled about this air fryer! After all we have a set of double ovens in the wall and one is a convection oven. Which is essentially exactly what an air fryer is, sigh.

On the plus side, knowing her father by love, Sam made sure all the working parts are dishwasher safe! Because it is all too familiar that Steve loves to make a mess but never wants to clean it and seems to feel I should be the one to do that for him! I always bring up his choice of buying a juicer about 30 years ago and then he wanted me to clean it! When I told him I was not going to do that he decided to return it.

Giving his penchant for fried foods which I do not have we shall see what takes place when he decides to try this piece of equipment out.

In the meantime, I told him this was not going to take up residency in the kitchen unless it was in use.
