It's Been a Dog's Life

Somehow we now have one definitely senior dog and one who is on the cusp of being a senior!

They are both still are sweet little baby girls. But things are starting to happen. Sunshine, are younger one, decided about 6 weeks ago that she didn't care to eat.

She did that before. Lasted about a week. Mainly it was her way of mourning when Pepper died.

This time, there was no death or trauma! She just simply looked at her bowl. Sat down almost in it and refused to eat. After the week mark I called the vet and we went in for a checkup.

$400 later, we knew she didn't have valley fever, an infection or some other detectable disease. It also wasn't a problem with one of her few remaining teeth or gums.

Sigh. Vet's wishing she had a psychologist or even a psychic on staff.  So do I.

Then there's Lucky, who is now somewhere around 11!  How can I say this? Well, she was "playing" with her doll and got so over-stimulated that she had an accident!

She was so embarrassed, poor baby.

Otherwise, life just keeps going. It's just a little bit messier.
