Whoa,Quiet in Here

It all started when we had my car serviced a couple of months ago. Suddenly it had this horrible loud grinding sound!

I told Steve about it almost immediately. I swore my drives sounded a if I were inside an airplane hangar.  His first response was to tell me that there was nothing wrong it.  It was just my car noise. I asked him if he had been wearing his hearing aids at the time he went to go drive it around the block and hear it?

No.  Grrr.

Made him put them on and try it again. Then he realized that he's very unmechanical wife was right.

Took it back to the mechanical have it a spin around the block.

He totally agreed, there was nothing normal about this sound. The only problem was he's only opening with the mechanic that was a specialist in this wasn't going to be around for a couple of weeks.  Okay.  Brought it back and was told I needed four new motor mounts.

Great.  Guess what? Mechanic couldn't do it for about 10 days.

I was told the good news was that I could drive the car around town to get to my physical therapy sessions and pick up all the grand kids.  Play kids I'll began holding their heads and complaining about how loud it was in my car.  I pointed out that at least I had a car to pick them up from school and make sure everyone was safe and sound.

The morning I was to take the car in and get the work done, I was informed that the gentleman who would be doing the work had had an industrial accident and would be out for at least a week! Came back a week later and then was told sorry he was waiting to have surgery done on the arm that got damaged and the person who would be taking over wouldn't be there for 3 more days!

To their credit they did give me a loaner so I could drop it off the night before.  I had a physical therapy appointment early in the morning and I'm not good in the mornings.

My loaner car was a box that made my car sound pretty quiet on the inside.  It was if I were driving a ton can.  Again, didn't care because it got me to the appointment and home. It also got me back to the mechanic later on that afternoon so I could pick up my car.

I turned on the car.Put it into gear and began to drive with some trepidation about the noise.

Lo and behold, my drive home was incredibly quiet!  I don't like spending money on things but this was a necessity.  I didn't realize the stress driving around with all of that grinding was causing me until it was gone.
