I Don't Have Enough Arms

It's been a tough week for our girls. We've had several monsoons that has sent one seeking refuge under the bed. Sunshine does not wish to eat or be around the rest of us unless she has to really go to the bathroom.

And it's not just the wind, rain, thunder and lightning! We've also had a horrible year for flies. Sunshine is terrified of anything that flies.

Thanks to facebook, We heard that if you put a bar of Irish spring into a Ziploc and poke holes in it and hang it up outside it will help with this problem. Evidently there are a lot of frightened dogs out there because when I went to go get a bar to markets and Walmart we're out of the product.

If our last chance at finding a bar of this soap bottoms out we will have to get one of those stinky bags.

Either way we've been having issues.

But wait, there is more.

Lucky, has been taking up residence not just in my lap, as usual, but she seems to feel I need to hold her in my arm against my chest so she can put her head into my neck and try to crawl into my skin.

I called our wonderful vet, Doctor Young, and asked for some guidance.

She recommended what amounts to doggy prozac. We are on a trial. Thankfully, Sunshine seems to be a lot less anxious!  Yesterday she spent most of the day in the great room with her sister and I and even ate her meals without an issue.

And that was during a raging monsoon!

Lucky did great the first 2 days!  I was no longer having my knees scratched to smithereens because of her wanting to get up on my lap and my shoulder was actually feeling less pain from not having to hold her non stop.

We are in day #3 and unfortunately Lucky is back to being on my shoulder.

Once a parent always a parent.
