Good Bye 2025
It's been a year, with all the ups and downs one can expect. Some wonderful, some tolerable and, unfortunately, some really downright awful.
The wonderful? Our eldest grandson, Dylan, graduated high school, had his first college course learning Spanish in Costa Rica and then beginning college.
This year Steve retired after over 40 years with La-Z-Boy. We're both adjusting to this situation. LOL!
After literally an entire year of surgeries, I now am through with my jaw/implant issues!!! Woot, woot am back to eating raw foods on both sides of my mouth.
We also took a fantastic cruise and finally saw the Panama canal. It was even better knowing this cruise was gratis thanks to the point system.
Physical therapy was okay. This time it was the knees. My PT was adamant that due to my "falling" and balance issues that I have to use walking sticks. They've certainly helped catch me many times. On the flip of that, my hands are killing me.
We had my mother-in-law's unveiling in September. Nothing says family togetherness like 20 hours in a car together...
And now for the ugly: on May 12th, the day after Mother's Day, we had to see our precious girl Sunshine over the rainbow bridge. Crying as I type this sentence.
Obviously it hit us extremely hard. Hoping that once she found Pepper that all made her feel better.
Poor Lucky though, she cried with us for over a month, wound up with severe blood pressure issues and also had some harrowing and frightening other health events that had us crying as well.
Our little old baby is quite deaf and partially blind. But she can smell a carrot being cut from a room away! Her favorite time (outside of us holding and feeding her) is when Dex (Adam and Sam's little old guy) is here.
They run around the yard, sniff and kiss and then nap. Wait an hour and repeat.
So our 2025 is coming to a close. We're having Steve's 69th birthday here on New Year's Day. Traditional, for us: Smoked ribeye roast, nice big salad, Yorkshire pudding and "Too much chocolate" cake.
We don't ever go out on NYE. But, if you do-may it be filled with fun, love and safe events!
Happy new year!
