Got the New Phone Blues

I didn't want a new phone. I did not need a new phone. Yet, I have a new phone.

Steve found that our provider was giving a free Google pixel if we turned in my beloved Samsung 8.

I have had three Samsungs and was just at the point of feeling comfortable about how to get around the phone and find what I need without help.

Now, I have to start the whole process again and as usual- I am not enjoying it.

Steve said this had the best camera. Yes I want a good camera but do I have to sacrifice being able to delete spam permanently? Do I have to give up being able to clear my text messages so I don't have 5,000 entries?

By now anybody who has read this little blog knows I am an extremely low low tech person. So I am mad at my new phone. I resent having to put myself through things just to get rid of garbage. I don't want or need.

Plus, my Samsung health program that worked beautifully, took Steve two and a half days to figure out how to get it working on this new phone. New phone. If it took Mr. Technology that long, how long do you think it's going to take me?

Besides the fact that it doesn't actually calculate my steps as well as it does on my former phone, it also tells me it will not tell me my blood oxygen or my heart rate anymore unless I go out and buy a Samsung fit thingy.

I don't want more technology! I think there's way too much in my life as it is.

Case an example in point, yesterday I was in the middle of a show I was really enjoying when suddenly my TV came up that I had no internet!

Now I usually don't really care about watching TV. But when things like this happen I also cannot turn on a light, I cannot listen to music and a host of other things because Steve has hooked me up ( he says it's to make my life easier) to the internet.

It was getting dark and I finally realized one light in the family room area could be put on!

So on top of trying to get my unwanted free new phone to let me do anything now. I was sitting in partial darkness wondering how to get the rest of dinner in the oven without tripping over one of the dogs because of how dark it was in the kitchen.

Sigh.
