Thanks Mom

My mom, bless her, had a nickname-Dr. Julia.

In case you're wondering, it was given to her by all of her kids (both by birth and marriage).  She was the type of woman who thought doctors knew nothing.  "Who knows me better than me?"

If she had an infection and was told by said doctor and the pharmacist to finish the antibiotic, she'd only take it until she felt better.  Then wonder why she got sick again and blame them for giving her "the wrong medicine".  If her sugar levels weren't able to be stabilized, she'd blame it on the doctors for giving me "medicine that makes me sick and I can just watch my diet".

Which, by the way, she didn't really do at all.

Her blood pressure was out of control because she didn't take her medication the way she was told too (until it was too late) because it made her "feel worse".  Her cholesterol was through the roof and she wouldn't listen.

I will admit though, when her kidneys began to go she did start taking her meds and she was finally right about a medicine making her worse.  The statin nearly killed her!

This background is being given because I now have to start taking medicine for my high cholesterol!

My primary doctor said it's because of heredity.

After all, I eat only lean proteins or vegan proteins, I'm 85% plant-based and I exercise 4-5 times a week.

Here's another stab from 2020.  Do I really need another problem and another medicine?

Lately, I can see why someone may what a glass of wine and just sit and stare at a wall for a while.  Wish I could give it a try, but obviously I have a "host" of reasons why that isn't possible.
