Thank Goodness-Almost Done

Happy (hopefully) New Year!

Personally, I am dubious. Let's face it the last 3 years of hoping for a new start has been met with almost total failure.

I think I can speak frankly about what I expect from 2023-not much.

Can't remember the last time I felt this much ennui about the beginning of a year's beginning.

We don't really celebrate. Steve's birthday is o the second, so we usually prefer to do our festivities for that personal enjoyment.

He's turning 66!

Three weeks later, our eldest grandson, Dylan, turns 16!  Followed by our middle grandson, Aidan, becoming 15.

Although, truth be told, we don't do much celebrating because I fall asleep long before the East coast sets off anything in Time Square!

Enjoy the last weekend of this latest disappointing 365 day phenomenon.

Comments:
And I turn 70 this year. Ughhh. Still wishing you a happy new year there and hope you had a pleasant holiday season. You're lucky to have a handy guy around the house. The handyman gene skipped my generation. My dad could fix absolutely anything and my sons can do so with help from YouTube. If I try to fix something, it only makes it worse. We did have a white Xmas, courtesy of a winter storm, but our grandkids made it to our house beforehand, unfortunately bearing unwanted gifts--a bad cold which then infected myself and Wendy.

Oh no, Dave! I really hate colds. It's right up there with the stomach flu. But you can breathe with the stomach flu.

No snow, but yesterday we had 50 degrees, rain/hail and 40 mph winds! And yes, Steve did still smoke our dinner

Expecting more rain. Steve still wants to smoke ribs

Most of the family is coming for the first of 2 bday celebrations
