AAA to the Rescue!
I did something truly stupid. Rates high up there in my 65 existing years.
Not a fan of rain. We've had a lot of it lately. Normally I wouldn't have gone out in it, but found my vegetable bin quite empty-save a couple of carrots and an onion. Plus, I had a doctor's appointment just down the street.
It was only a sprinkle when I went in. Got my few items checked out and just as I exited the doors the downpour began! There I was by myself, holding the umbrella, my purse and pushing the cart! Oh, it was also quite windy. fun times for a person with little hand abilities. Lovely, NOT!
Got the groceries in, grabbed my purse and started to close the trunk.
Realized, a second too late that my keys were still in there!
Now I was soaking wet, starving ( fasted for the appointment) and locked out!
Went back into the market. Called AAA and got myself breakfast at the in-store Starbucks.
Thankfully, just as I finished my wrap and my chat with a very nice clerk on her break, the two truck arrived.
It was still pouring.
My hero got the door opened. That set off the alarm system. Couldn't pop the trunk! My hero went into the back seat, powered the secret panel and with his flashlight and book retrieved my keys.
We both were relieved that the horn stopped. People said sorry to me many times over. Some gave me that all knowing chuckle.t
Got home to the girls who by this time were in desperate need of a potty break. So was I. I had drunk 2 bottles of water to get the bloodwork done and a Venti Pike's. I let the girls out, peeled off my wet clothes, then worried about the groceries.
Thank goodness for AAA. Steve has the only extra set of keys. He works about 45 minutes away. Same time frame but a lot more inconvenient and wasted gas.
Yep, it was quite the morning...

We have AAA but haven't used them lately. It's good to know it's worthwhile to have them. I saw how your pets have been getting you up earlier. We have been watching our son's 15-year-old Boston Terrier while his family vacation down south. He wakes us up between 5 a.m. and 6 a.m. every day. He's a very old dog and looks the part too unless he spots a squirrel or rabbit in the back yard.
I had my physical this week too. That went okay but the bloodwork they did is usually my source of greatest worry. They always find something not right.

The grandpup is lucky to have you! Lucky is somewhere around 11-ish. She's very bossy. She's also extremely affectionate and adorable. Sunshine is older than the rescue led us to believe-but they were guessing. I mean she was a stray and couldn't exactly tell them her birthdate, LOL
Sam and Adam, bless them, will be adding these 2 to their menagerie while we're gone. Should be something! They have 2 very old animals (1 cat and 1 dog) then there's Dex, who only has eyes for Lucky. He's the incontinent one who wears diapers. Sunshine, with her kidney issues and eating disorder and another 3 cats. Just think of their 16 days! Adding their kids, jobs and schedules. Oh my!
As for my physical-I hear you on the bloodwork. My 'barely' normal thyroid level took a plunge. I have to re-take it again b/c I think she doesn't want to add another pill to my life and is hoping somehow the latest issue disappears.
