No Exercise Today

Sigh.

This morning started off the same as usual.  Lucky did her "job" and I did mine.  Sunshine didn't want to eat, her usual.

Then it happened.  My helper went between my feet and I fell.  Yep, on my worst knee and hip.  Fortunately, Lucky was scared but not hurt.

I wasn't as untouched.  My glasses were okay, so there's that good news. But it was no picnic for Steve to get me off the floor.  My infamous ice pack was next.

Poor Lucky!  It's been over an hour and she's still looking at me with her very confused and concerned eyes.  After all, her job is to protect me.  Sunshine didn't like the yelp or watching me try and hobble with help to my recliner either.

At the very least I'm going to miss this morning's walk and bike ride to nowhere.  I haven't tried getting up yet, so I'm hoping I'll just be sore and swollen for the weekend.

Of course, the family's coming over for dinner tomorrow night-hoping that won't be an unattainable challenge...

Goes right back to Gilda Farmer's favorite saying, "It's always something".

Comments:
Catching up here . . . it sounds like it's been tough for you and Sunshine lately. I know aches and pains and everything else is a part of aging for all of us but they should have given better warning. Now they impress upon us the importance of working until we're 70 so that we get the maximum social security. Life surely doesn't begin at 70. At least you shouldn't be fighting the heat there this year, right?

We bought my wife a new La-Z-Boy chair. The two deliverymen were quite impatient to bring it in and set it up, possibly because of my ghoulish graveyard erected out front for Halloween. "You have dead people in your yard," the guy said when I answered the door.

To say it's been a bad week would be a big understatement! Wound up my arm got the worst of it. Brace for 3 days. Of course that would be the hand I'm about to have surgery on this Tuesday.
And if that wasn't enough —Steve gave me his head cold.
