what's cooking?

Yep, 15 people and 2 old dogs in the house.  Tight squeeze, but a lot of fun!  We can't go in the yard since we have entered the "extreme heat and had air" time of the year.

Adam mentioned bringing his dogs.  We unfortunately had to nix that idea.  Sunshine is still not feeling great about Daisy's size.  Doesn't seem like a good plan to have 6 people she doesn't know and extra playmates at the same time.  

Sunshine was already hiding from the A/C repair man today.  Don't worry though!  Lucky protected me quite loudly from our invited intruder.  I swear-the older our itty-bitty gets the louder she barks.  We know she's deaf and her vision isn't very good but it doesn't matter!  Her job is to protect me and wake me up at 4:15 a.m..  She takes both her jobs seriously and does them to perfection.

Anyway, relatives will arrive around one.  Lots of catching up to enjoy.  Steve is smoking 5 racks of ribs.  Since my hands aren't exactly "working", I decided to serve lots of different types of chips, veggie trays and dip, making cole slaw.  Thank goodness for bags of pre-shredded mix.  Our new Sprouts finally opened, so I braved opening day and bought several fruit pies and froze them.  Steve got ice cream and whipped cream.  Lots of variety in the drink department.  I

The younger cousins will stay at their time share.  Our more age/life cousins will stay with us.  They should enjoy hearing Lucky at the opening moment of her work day, right??? LOL

Now, on a more compelling note-may I ask for any of you who are here to say prayers for our Jackson?  He's having heart surgery Thursday.
