what's cooking?

what's cooking?
Now what?
Okay, I admit it-I am a technodweeb. I wrote my first ever blog, then I couldn't figure out how to actually edit it! Then I tried to post a comment on a friend's blog-I forgot my very much needed password. Does anyone else have this problem?
That's what's cooking this week.
I want to write. I want people to "hit" me (is that really the correct jargon?). However, reality comes into play. How in the world to I continue to do this if I keep forgetting how to even get here?
Many of you are thinking-GO TAKE A COMPUTER CLASS LADY!
Easier said than done. First, I would have to seek out a place to take this class. Then I'd have to adjust my schedule. The hardest part would be to express how important that this class would be to my "career" to my hubby. Right now, our budget is incredibly stretched to an uncomfortable point. How do I approach spending money and more time away for a "career" than has increased our budget by $400 in the past 3 years?
The most embarassing part about being a "technodweeb" is that word gets around fast and the jokes seem to be flying around the room like the wicked witch of the west. If the computer system freezes, about 1/2 the room turn and face me! I don't even have to be near the thing!
Most people are known for their talents at one thing or another. Me (outside of being a published writer of sorts and a really good cook) I'm known for my lack of mechanical skills.
So kind readers, bear that in mind as I continue to try and improve and continue this blog.

Dear Carine...I sent you an email. Hope you get it!

Ciao chica...blog looks great. I like the tone!

Hi, l like your recent blog. no need for computer classes and waste of money, the net is full of many many tech people who offer their help for free. just search your way around and you will find an answer to everything you think of. i have a feeling that your blog would be amsuing and full of energry! take care and best of luck!

thank you all, please keep reading!

Hi, Carine!

Have you written a cookbook? I really love to cook (I find it very relaxing, especially with a nice glass of wine), but I am definitely NOT great at it! Average, maybe...most of the time they eat it. Some of my more futile attempts at new recipes are only tasted by me and my dogs (I won't even get into the "high-protein, low-fat" chocolate angelfood cake I made last weekend and brought to someone's house. The first one that I made never rose because I didn't know that the eggs whites had to be at room temperature! And the one that looked perfect...well, let's just say that it goes to show you that looks aren't everything).

I would love to read some of your recipes, and some of your favorite things to cook!

Lisa

yes Lisa, I've had quite a good lot of recipes published. I believe 3 in the Woman's Day Special editions of Light and Healthy (3 separate magazines), I was one of "our reader's favorites" in Family Circle (they messed it up, but oh well!), I've had 2 recipes published in the Orange County Register here in CA and I was an honorable mention in the BHG latest contest-they sent me my page to add to the new book! I mainly stick to healthy recipes and I like to take favorites/comfort food and give them a twist!

Hi, Carine!

Wow, you must be so proud! I think that's wonderful!! I like to cook healthy, also (I find Shape magazine has the tastiest healthy recipes)...which is probably why no one likes to eat what I cook and would rather go to McDonald's (like the time I made a whole wheat pasta dish with spinach and sardines...my husband and I loved it, once the kids realized it wasn't chicken, they pushed their plates away)!

Gotta go to work, have a great day!
Lisa

My kids are fully grown, but sometimes they wonder about my combinations! most times they'll at least try it, only a few times have they said, no try this again!
