Going Cross-eyed for a Vaccine
FYI, bit of a rant going on here.
A few days ago we found out that Arizona was going to have over 50,000 covid-19 vaccines available and that we had to go on the Arizona department of health services to sign up for our shots.
I'm sure you all know what's happening next-I signed up went through all the questionnaire and then pressed the first button about setting my appointment.
"This time slot is full please choose another"
I proceeded to start at the most likely time Steve and I could get to the location about 45 minutes away. The appointments were three minutes apart. Not going to lie after an hour of trying and becoming so frustrated about every single appointment not being available I decided to stop.
Besides the frustration of clicking a spot, answering the questions every single time and clicking the appointment set only to be told there was no appointment was flaring a bit of rage. They said the appointments would be available for a whole month starting at noon.
I was on there and started exactly at noon. I was actually on earlier because I did all the preliminary paperwork and questionnaires prior to when the appointments were supposed to start popping up. Now I have to admit it was 24/7. However I'm not going after 9:00 at night and I'm not going to get up at 3:00 a.m. to get to an appointment.
But I literally tried everything from 6:00 a.m. until 9:00 at night on the only Saturday and Sunday posted. Even though they promised an entire month, they had only put up five days!
Sarah, determined to get me the shots, which actually I am a 1B and should be able to get it, found a chain market had some but it was an hour drive. Now if I had better strength in my still recovering broken ankle I would have braved it. But I can only go on Sundays and Mondays since my driving range is only about 15 minutes at best.
Next day I looked again and there were still no more days posted on the department of health site.
But since Sarah found some on a market chain I proceeded to check the local pharmacy stores and the markets within 15 mile range.
Nothing!
and then came the news report stating that all of the illegal people at the borders were being given the shots just for coming to the country! I am not a political person in the least and I know I will take heat for this BUT, why is it Americans who need the vaccines are being given the runaround but people clamoring to come into our country only have to say let me in and get it?
I'm leaving it at that this week, just because I'm that frustrated.
