Mom,Mom! Pick me up!!!

By now you all know you just how much our two dogs mean to us.  But, that doesn't mean it doesn't come without challenges.

Lately our older, tinier dog has become EXTRA clingy.  If I am sitting she wants to be held. Not just held, she needs to be on my arm with her head in my neck.

I know what you're thinking. Just don't pick her up. If I don't, Lucky  will scratch at my knee for over 45 minutes being told the whole time: Stop, Off, No!

Lucky is incredibly insistent and consistent.

Adam said I should just put a blanket on my legs and then she get tired of doing it. I don't think so, considering it hasn't stopped her so far.

Truth be told, I had a telemed appointment yesterday and the doctor asked what was on my shoulder. I told him it was my older chihuahua and he laughed.

It seems the only time I can actually live without an extra 6 pound weight is when I am getting dressed, walking or preparing food. Sometimes Lucky is right behind me scratching at the back of my legs telling me she needs me.

Fortunately, Monday I am taking both dogs for their physicals and we will discuss this with the vet. We have tried doggy prozac. Between Sunshine's anxiety every time the weather turns inclement and Lucky's constant need to be held I'm rather worn out.

What I am thinking is that I am extremely fortunate that I am home most of the time. Because if separation anxiety is this bad when I'm right in front of both of them I can't imagine what would happen if I left the house from more than an hour!

Now I am off for a little bit of personal time. Today is water aerobics and the market.
